Scarlett Johansson - American Actress and Singer (born in the city of New York on 22 November 1984) Her range of talents as an actress has brought many accolades in everything from the dramas of the past to thrillers and adventures. Johansson daughter of an architect and producer, was born in New York City. Hunter, the sister of Johansson was also born in New York City. Her interest began in acting at a young age auditioning for commercials by age seven. She joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly after, and later attended the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to further her education. In the Off-Broadway production Sophistry she worked with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance with North (1994) which was produced by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson subsequently appeared in Just Cause (1995) but her first breakthrough came with Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about abandoned sisters who escape. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played a teenager with a deformity due to an accident garnered an acclaim from critics. After that, in Ghost World 2001 (as the young, sarcastic teenager Rebecca) Johansson was awarded even more recognition. The actress is one the major characters. Apart from her work in the TV series, she has also been an actor on stage for a number of years. Her fame is based on her amazing roles in stage plays like Wildflower. Renee Felice Smith began her path into the world of entertainment in the early years of her life. As a child Smith was interested in the field of acting. Smith landed a first acting gig at the young age of 6 with her parents' encouragement. Smith was in a Dannon TV commercial. She decided, like many actresses who are just getting started, to improve her skills in theatre. In addition, she worked on other productions across the USA as well, and Wildflower was her debut on stage show. She attended an institution called the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
